Pipe Bevel Laser Cutting Machine for V, X, Y and K Cuts
Bevelled tube ends are prepared for welding. Our product information states bevel cutting for one tube machine, the WT-6035T; this page shows the four groove names and what to send.
AThe four groove names
- V: one bevel on the edge, giving a V-shaped groove when two parts meet.
- X: bevels on both faces of the edge, giving an X-shaped joint.
- Y: a bevel plus a straight root face left at the bottom of the edge.
- K: bevels on both faces of one part, meeting a square-cut edge on the other.

BWhich machine bevels
The WT-6035T is stated to support V, X, Y and K bevel cuts and ±45° bevels. For the WT-6023T, WT-12035T and WT-3015PT, bevel cutting is not stated on their sheets: ask before you assume it.
CWhat to send for a bevel job
- The groove name or a sketch of the joint.
- The bevel angle you need.
- Tube section, wall thickness and material.
- The joint drawing, if you have one.
Wall thickness limits for bevel cuts depend on power and configuration, so we confirm them in the quotation rather than print a figure.
